Whitening Your Teeth Naturally With Lemon peel or orange peel? Myth Behind It

Whitening Your Teeth Naturally With Lemon peel or orange peel? Myth Behind It

Lemon peel contains a list of vitamin, mineral and fibre like calcium, potassium and Vitamin C, which gives your body a nutritional boost.

  • Lemon juice in its natural state has a pH of 2 which is acidic.
  •  Outside the body, lemon juice is very acidic.
  • Lemon juice cause enamel erosion.
  • As your enamel erodes it becomes thinner and this allows the yellower dentine that lies below the enamel to be more visible through the enamel.
  •  Your teeth may appear indented and yellower and they may also feel coarse to the tongue.

Orange peel contains soluble sugars and pectin as the main components. ... Oxalic acid (mainly in the peel) Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) Tartaric acid.

  • Peels also have anti-cancerous properties, due to the presence of limonene, a naturally occurring chemical.
  • The acidity of orange juice is due primarily to the organic acid, citric acid and, to a much lesser extent, malic and succinic acidsOrange juice with about 0.5–1.0% acid (pH of about 3.5) is less acidic than that of grapefruit, and much less acidic than lemon and lime.

So long term use of both peels of lemon and orange can cause tooth erosion.

The changes in pH value of mouth can accelerate tooth decay also.

Black triangle treatment

Black triangles are naturally occurring spaces between teeth due to two triangular shaped teeth touching each other.

This is completely normal and some type of spacing is always natural and even beneficial, as it helps improve cleans ability and gum health, and overall dental hygiene.

Etiology of black triangle

  • Decreased interproximal bone height from periodontal disease, attachment loss, periodontal surgery, or trauma
  • Excessive embrasure space and deficient papilla form affected by root angulation, inter radicular distance, crown form, and distance between alveolar bone and interproximal contact
  • Patients’ biologic width and inherent or thinning gingival biotype
  • Other: Age, patient habits, iatrogenic issues.
BLACK TRAIAGLE CAN CAUSE
  • Retention of food debris or biofilm accumulation and potential tissue inflammation
  • Lateral compaction of food debris, creating uncomfortable wedging pressure between tightly spaced roots
  • Phonetic issues: escape of air or saliva during speech
  • Iatrogenic narrowing of roots with repeated scaling to remove calculus.
The Bioclear method is unique in making a direct restorative solution to black triangles both simple and predictable. It is very different from traditional composite bonding in technique and results.

 Black triangle treatment with Bioclear

Non invasive

Simple and predictable

Addition of materials

Smooth subgingival contour for tissue adaptation.

Protects root by covering and reducing sensitivity.

Orthodontic stability by broad incisal -gingival and buccolingual contacts

Mylar finish for minimal calculus accumulation and easy removal

Minimize iatrogenic root contouring with repeated scaling

Asthetic Dentistry With Bioclear Method

 ASTHETIC DENTISTRY WITH BIOCLEAR METHOD

The Bioclear Method is a technique in which  direct  composite is wrapped around a tooth using special plastic matrices to properly form a fully functional, beautiful tooth.

It is an alternative to indirect restoration.

Traditional Composite Vs.  Bioclear method

Traditional treatment options are

1.Direct Composite bonding

2. Indirect Ceramic

In Bioclear method we get advantages of  both composite and ceramic .

Traditional bonding often leaves ledges that bacteria and plaque get caught on that can lead to staining, chipping, cavities, and bleeding gums.

The Bioclear Method leaves no damage at all .

it is more conservative

repairable

less expensive.

INDICATIONS

  • Chipped, worn and broken front teeth
  • Black triangles
  • You need to fix teeth but don't want your teeth cut down for crowns
  • Gap closure
  • To  change a small teeth that you don't like
