NO HORN DAY,health issues of it

Today is "NO HORN DAY ".


High decibel  sounds can

Slowly decrease the equilibrium of body.

Leads to lot of health problems.

It can cause loss of hearing.

Increase blood pressure.

Increase the amount of sugar in the blood in diabetic people.

Causes depression.

Results in lack of concentration.

Can result in heart diseases.

Hearing loss caused by it is non curable.

So no unnecessary horn please.

Dr.RAFIUDDIN AHMED - Father of Indian Dentistry


Dr.RAFIUDDIN AHMED (1890-1965) 

He is a well-known personality and great visionary in dentistry, renowned as Father of Indian Dentistry. 

He was born on December 24, 1890, in Bardhanpara, East Bengal, India.

His birthday is celebrated as NATIONAL DENTISTS DAY.




Dr.RAFIUDDIN AHMED came back to India from the US after his studies from The Dental University Of Boston.

He started practising dentistry in Kolkata in the year 1919.

He raised funds from his own practice to start the first dental college in the Asian continent in Kolkata, India in 1920.

Dr Ahmed published the First Student’s Handbook on Operative Dentistry in 1928.

 He also established the Indian Dental Journal in 1925 and was its Editor until 1946.

In 1925, Dr Ahmed established the Bengal Dental Association, which became the forerunner for the Indian Dental Association (which he also organized in 1928).

He served three terms as President of the Indian Dental Association from 1945 to 1949.

 Dr R. Ahmed was the first elected President of the India Dental Council, serving from 1954 to 1958.

 On his birthday December 24th is observed as National Dentists Day.

He died on January 18, 1965.
