Vaccine for Malaria

World's first malaria vaccine launched in Malawi,Africa .

This vaccine is a complementary malarial control tool in addition to bed nets ,insecticide sprayed indoor ,prompt diagnosis and treatment of disease says WHO.

Malarial vaccine has potential to save tens of thousands of children lives


Malaria is the most common deadly disease in children. It is a parasitic disease, transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes. 

It is both preventable and treatable  disease yet thousands of children die each year 
.
Children under 5years of age are at greater risk of life threatening complications. 

The vaccine RTS,S will be made available to children below 2years.

The vaccine is given in 4 doses . Three doses between 5months and 9months,
And fourth dose around 2years of age.

Liver diseases and alcohol consumption





In India the most common reason for liver disease is alcohol consumption.

Alcoholic liver disease can damage liver in 3 stages.
1.Fatty liver-excess fat deposit in liver. Completely reversible by quitting alcohol.

2. Alcoholic Hepatitis- Liver cells are inflamed and damaged.
The chance of reducing further liver damage is decreased by reduce intake of alcohol.

3. Liver Cirrhosis- fatal condition, not reversible .even a single  shot of alcohol is fatal to your life.

Limits of alcohol consumption
No limit is safe for boozing,but  in general 14 units per week
1unit=10ml
Slowly reduce the amount of liquor consumption and withdrawal of its use is highly recommended.

No permanent cure for Parkinsons disease but symptoms can be treated.

 Regular Exercise can reduce the risk of developing the disease.
