What causes dental cavities?

Dental cavities is most commonly caused  by  improper oral hygiene.

Lack of proper brushing sticks the food particles in between or on any tooth surface. Caries causing bacteria disintegrates the tooth on course of time to result in cavities.
So
food particles + caries causing bacteria +tooth + time= Dental cavities.

Heriditary can also be a main reason behind dental cavity.

Also in some people the caries causing bacterial amount is more, they are more prone to decay.Such people tends to get a fast progression of decay.

Lack of intake of water can also add on a dental cavity.
